Gas Prices See An Overnight Spike Across All Three Maritime Provinces

HALIFAX: Motorists across all three Maritime provinces woke up to higher costs at the pumps after gas prices saw an overnight increase. While regular self-serve gasoline climbed across Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and New Brunswick, diesel prices showed a mixed trend with localized hikes, freezes, and a notable drop.

Nova Scotia: In the Halifax area, the price of regular self-serve gasoline jumped by 3.6 cents, bringing the new minimum price to 168.9 cents per litre. Diesel consumers in the area saw some relief as prices remained unchanged, holding steady at a minimum of 185.4 cents per litre. However, drivers in Cape Breton are facing higher rates, where the minimum price for regular gasoline has reached 170.8 cents per litre and diesel sits at 187.3 cents per litre.

Prince Edward Island: Prince Edward Island registered increases across both fuel categories. Regular self-serve gasoline went up by 2.8 cents, setting the new minimum baseline at 180.4 cents per litre. Diesel prices on the island also ticked upward by 1.1 cents, pushing the new minimum cost to 201.1 cents per litre.

New Brunswick: In New Brunswick, the maximum price for regular self-serve gasoline climbed by 2.1 cents overnight, bringing the new cap to 176.0 cents per litre. In contrast to the gas hike, diesel users in the province received a reprieve as maximum diesel prices plummeted by 5.0 cents, establishing a new maximum price of 199.8 cents per litre for motorists.
