Kitchener: Authorities have announced that Robert Ferrie Drive will be closed starting Monday due to ongoing construction work on New Dundee Road. The Region of Waterloo has warned that this closure is expected to cause traffic congestion in the area. Robert Ferrie Drive, between Blair Creek Drive and New Dundee Road, will remain closed until December 2025.
Although New Dundee Road will remain open to traffic during construction, motorists are advised to exercise caution in this section. Authorities also stated that temporary traffic controls are likely, meaning that at times, traffic may need to travel over a metal-covered surface. Flagging operations may also be implemented during construction on New Dundee Road to ensure safe traffic flow.
The road upgrade project, costing $4 million, includes widening the road, adding a left-turn lane, and constructing a multi-use pathway.
