Multiple Fires at GTA Building Material Firm Spark Arson Investigation

The Ontario Fire Marshal has launched an investigation into a series of suspicious fires targeting Fluoreno Supplies, a prominent building materials business with multiple locations across the Greater Toronto Area. The latest incident occurred early Wednesday morning, May 6, 2026, marking the third time in a single week that the company’s facilities have been hit by fire.

At approximately 1:30 AM on Wednesday, emergency crews were dispatched to the Fluoreno branch on Nantucket Boulevard in Scarborough, located near Kennedy Road and Lawrence Avenue East. Fortunately, the building’s internal sprinkler system activated promptly, containing the flames and allowing firefighters to extinguish the blaze quickly. No injuries were reported, but the suspicious timing has placed investigators on high alert.

This latest fire follows two nearly simultaneous blazes that occurred on Sunday, May 3. The first was reported at 12:51 AM at a Fluoreno location on South Sheridan Way in Mississauga, which Peel Regional Police have already labeled as suspicious. Less than an hour later, at 1:24 AM, another fire broke out at the company’s warehouse on Norfinch Drive in North York. Toronto Police confirmed that the North York location was engulfed in flames upon arrival and have since classified that specific incident as a confirmed act of arson.

Law enforcement agencies from Toronto and Peel Region are now working in coordination with the Ontario Fire Marshal to determine if the three fires are linked. While the investigation remains in its preliminary stages, authorities are exploring the possibility of a targeted and organized campaign against the business. Anyone with information regarding these incidents or suspicious activity near these locations is urged to contact the police.
