Kerala Election Victory Echoes Abroad: UDF Supporters Spark Vibrant Celebrations in London, Ontario

LONDON, ONTARIO: The resounding victory of the United Democratic Front (UDF) in the Kerala Assembly elections has triggered widespread celebrations across the global Malayali diaspora, with Canada’s Congress supporters leading the festivities. In London, Ontario, a large gathering of Indian National Congress (INC) sympathizers and members of the local Malayali community came together to mark the alliance’s sweeping triumph.

A Mandate Against Corruption and Maladministration

The celebratory meeting was presided over by Manoj Kumar Viswanathan. Key community members and political activists—including Praveen Varkey, Joji Thomas, Jinson Cyriac, Ashwin Baby, Dino Vettam, Satheesh Geethalayam, Arun, Christy Pinheiro, Thomson, Binoj Joseph, Priyesh George, Aju Paul, and Joby John—addressed the gathering.

Speaking at the event, the leaders evaluated the election outcome as a powerful public backlash against the previous Left Democratic Front (LDF) government. They noted that the mandate reflects the people’s outright rejection of a regime marred by corruption, nepotism, and anti-people policies, signaling instead a strong collective vote for democracy and progressive development.

High Expectations for the V.D. Satheesan Administration

The attendees expressed immense optimism regarding the upcoming administration, stating that the newly elected government is poised to deliver exemplary governance under the leadership of V.D. Satheesan. The diaspora community highlighted that his extensive political experience, integrity, and vision would steer Kerala toward a new era of growth and prosperity.

Reaffirming their deep connection to their homeland, the expatriate organizations concluded the event by pledging their full support and cooperation toward Kerala’s development initiatives in the coming years.
