Cuisinart Grill Brushes Sold in Canada Recalled Over Risk of Serious Internal Injuries

OTTAWA — Health Canada has issued a recall notice for Cuisinart-branded metal wire bristle grill brushes distributed across the country by Crate & Barrel Canada. Federal safety authorities warned that small metal bristles can detach during use and adhere to grill surfaces or food, creating a severe ingestion hazard that could lead to internal injuries or require surgical intervention.

The affected brushes were sold as components of two specific grilling utensil sets, featuring the “Cuisinart” brand name stamped onto the handle. According to Health Canada, approximately 679 units of the Chinese-manufactured products were purchased nationwide between December 2017 and March 2026.

As of late August, no incidents or injuries related to the recalled items have been reported in Canada.

Consumers are advised to immediately cease using the brushes and contact Crate & Barrel Canada to receive a full refund. Customers can obtain further information by visiting the company’s official website or by calling their toll-free line at 800-451-8217.
