Kitchener: Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the Waterloo region due to the expectation of severe heat in the coming days. The meteorological agency states that intense heat will persist until Tuesday. Daytime temperatures could range from 30 to 34 degrees Celsius, with humidex values making it feel as hot as 42 degrees Celsius. The agency also noted that there is no significant chance of rain over the next few days.
Severe heat can lead to symptoms such as headaches, nausea, dizziness, and extreme fatigue. To combat the intense heat, Environment Canada has advised residents to drink plenty of water before feeling thirsty and to reduce the risk of dehydration.
