OTTAWA- The popular children’s board book “I Spy a Fly!” is being recalled from the market after it was found to pose a potential choking hazard. Health Canada issued the directive against the book, which is published by Make Believe Ideas as part of their “Groovy Baby” series.
The book features an image of a green frog with orange netting on the front cover, and an image of a purple fly with large googly eyes and four shiny plastic wings on the final page. Warnings indicate that when pulled by toddlers, the plastic wings on the last page may detach, creating a choking risk.
Manufactured in China, the book can be identified by the number ISBN: 9781836422594. Between March 2025 and June 2026, a total of 1,247 units of the book were sold in Canada. Currently, no incidents or injuries involving the product have been reported.
