OTTAWA: The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has announced the recall of Beretta brand Chicken Pot Pie sold in Ontario due to the presence of an undeclared egg allergen on the product label.
The action was taken after it was discovered that the product contained egg, an ingredient not declared on the packaging. The agency reported that the recall process began following a consumer complaint. Furthermore, the food department confirmed that one allergic reaction has been reported in connection with the consumption of the Chicken Pot Pie.
The CFIA issued a strong warning, advising that individuals who have an allergy or sensitivity to egg should not consume these products, as they can cause serious or life-threatening health problems. The agency directed that the products should not be used, sold, or distributed. Consumers are instructed to either dispose of the recalled Chicken Pot Pie or return it to the place of purchase.
