Ontario: Guelph Police in Canada have arrested a 45-year-old woman after she left a toddler alone inside a parked car. She has been charged with failing to provide the necessaries of life.
The incident occurred outside an establishment on Woodlawn Road West, where the child was found inside the vehicle. Police stated that the engine was off and the windows were opened only by an inch or two. A passerby noticed the unattended toddler, monitored the vehicle for about ten minutes, and, seeing no one return, opened the car door to check on the child. The infant was found unconscious and drenched in sweat due to the extreme heat.
Emergency responders and police arrived promptly at the scene and rushed the child to a hospital for immediate medical care. Following an investigation into the incident, police formally recorded the woman’s arrest.
