TORONTO — Weather experts have issued a warning for severe thunderstorms accompanied by heavy downpours across Southern Ontario today, with the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) bracing for potential storm activity by late afternoon.

Meteorologists predict the peak threat window for severe thunderstorms will span from 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM or 8:00 PM. Forecasters have also warned that conditions could trigger localized isolated tornadoes in certain regions.

Temperatures in Toronto are expected to reach a high of 28°C on Wednesday, though high humidity levels will push the humidex value to feel like 36°C.

The unsettled conditions are projected to clear up starting Thursday, making way for clear skies and pleasant weather heading into Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
