Five people injured, five arrested after shooting near Toronto’s waterfront

TORONTO- Five people were injured and five others were arrested following an early morning shooting near Toronto’s waterfront on Sunday. According to Toronto police, the incident occurred shortly after 3:00 a.m. in the area of Polson Street and Cherry Street.

While the exact circumstances leading up to the gunfire remain unclear, responding officers arrived at the scene to find three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. Two additional victims were located with other non-firearm-related injuries sustained during the chaos. Paramedics confirmed that all five individuals were transported to a nearby hospital, where one victim remains in critical condition.

Investigators have taken five suspects into custody in connection with the incident. A heavy police presence remains in the area as forensic teams process the scene. Authorities have not yet confirmed if any outstanding suspects are still at large and are urging anyone with information to contact Toronto police immediately.
