Belleville Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Congregation to Celebrate Feast of St. George and Welcome Archbishop Mor Titus Eldho on May 9

BELLEVILLE – The Belleville Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Congregation is set to host a grand celebration on Saturday, May 9, 2026, marking the Feast of St. George (Mor Geevarghese Sahada). The event will also feature a formal reception for the Diocesan Metropolitan, His Eminence Eldho Mor Titus, Archbishop of the Malankara Jacobite Syrian Christian Archdiocese of North America.

The day’s proceedings will commence at 11:00 AM with a ceremonial welcome for the Archbishop. Following the reception, a prayer service will be held at 11:30 AM, leading into the celebration of the Holy Qurbana at 12:00 PM. The liturgical services will be followed by special intercessory prayers, a keynote address by the Archbishop, and a traditional fellowship meal (Nercha Sadya) for all attendees.

Parish officials, including President Rev. Fr. Poulose Varghese, Vice President Aneesh Ittan, and Secretary Shijo Elias, have extended a warm invitation to all faithful to participate in this spiritual occasion. They emphasized that the event serves as a significant gathering for the community to seek the blessings of St. George and to interact with their spiritual leader.

This celebration is expected to bring together members of the Jacobite Syrian Orthodox community from Belleville and surrounding areas, fostering a sense of unity and cultural heritage within the North American Archdiocese.
