Double Drone Attack Hits Kuwait Border; Ministry Blames Iraqi Launch Site

KUWAIT CITY – The Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense has confirmed a targeted drone attack on its northern border posts early Friday morning. According to official reports, two explosive-laden drones originating from Iraqi territory struck security outposts, causing material damage to military infrastructure and equipment.

The Ministry revealed that the drones utilized advanced fiber-optic wire-guided technology, a precision-control method that allows operators to maintain high accuracy over the flight path. While the strikes caused significant damage to buildings at two separate land border locations, the Ministry confirmed that there were no casualties or injuries reported among personnel.

In response to the incursion, the Kuwaiti military immediately heightened security protocols along the northern frontier and launched retaliatory measures to secure the area. Authorities have officially labeled the incident a “criminal act of aggression” and a violation of the nation’s sovereignty. The Ministry stated that it is closely monitoring the situation and will take all necessary steps to protect the country’s borders.

The timing of the attack coincides with heightened regional tensions involving broader conflicts in the Middle East. While no specific group has claimed responsibility for the launch from Iraq, the incident has raised concerns about the potential for cross-border escalations. Kuwaiti officials emphasized that they will not tolerate any threats to national security and are coordinating with relevant agencies to investigate the origin of the strike further.
