HALIFAX – Residents in Nova Scotia saw a minor adjustment at the pumps today as the Nova Scotia Energy Board released its weekly fuel price update. According to the board’s Friday morning adjustment, diesel prices across the province have seen a marginal increase of less than one cent, bringing the minimum price to 155.1 cents per litre.
Meanwhile, gasoline prices have remained unchanged. The minimum price for regular self-serve gasoline stays steady at 127.5 cents per litre in the Halifax area, with prices slightly higher in other zones across the province.
The Nova Scotia Energy Board explained that these weekly fluctuations are a standard reflection of market conditions, primarily driven by:
- Changes in the NYMEX market prices.
- Shifts in the value of the Canadian dollar.
This stability in gas prices offers a small reprieve for motorists as the New Year begins, even as diesel costs continue to see slight upward pressure.
