Harbourfront collision leads to fuel spill, 1 man sent to hospital

TORONTO — A two-vehicle collision in Toronto’s Harbourfront neighbourhood led to a fuel spill and sent one person to a hospital Saturday night and is currently receiving hospital treatment.

The collision involved a large truck and an SUV, which crashed near the intersection of York Street and Queens Quay. Nearby residents reported that the fuel spill started immediately after the impact.

Authorities have confirmed that both the Ministry of the Environment and Toronto Water have been notified about the incident due to the risk posed by the fuel leak.

Road closures remain in effect in the Queens Quay West area between Lower Simcoe Street and York Street as emergency and cleanup crews manage the scene.
