EDMONTON: The Edmonton Malayali Association (NERMA) has launched a Malayalam language study center to provide children with an opportunity to learn Malayalam and understand the heritage of Kerala. The center was inaugurated by Canadian MP Ziad Aboultaif.
At the inaugural ceremony, Edmonton City Councillor Tim Cartmell, Ranjit Singh Bath, and Baneesa Sandhu attended as chief guests. The Director of Malayalam Mission, Murukan Kattakada, and the Malayalam Mission Canada Coordinator, Joseph John Calgary, extended their greetings. NERMA officials stated that the study center will play a crucial role in passing on the language and culture to the next generation of the Malayali community in Edmonton.
