OTTAWA: Two people, including the attacker, have been killed and six others were injured in a stabbing incident at Hollow Water First Nation in Canada. “Six people who were injured were taken to the hospital. One person was killed in the attack. The assailant is also dead,” the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) said in an email to AFP. Police stated that they are collecting information to find out what exactly happened.
Hollow Water First Nation is a native community of about 1,000 people. The community is located 217 kilometers north of Winnipeg, the provincial capital of Manitoba. The native population accounts for about five percent of Canada’s 41 million people. Statistics indicate that the indigenous population is largely subjected to attacks.
