Bedford, Nova Scotia: The sighting of a massive basking shark near the shore in Bedford, Nova Scotia, has sparked curiosity among local residents. The giant shark was spotted swimming near the Bedford Basin Yacht Club on Friday night, drawing a large crowd to the waterfront as people gathered to catch a glimpse of the rare sight and capture photos and videos on their mobile phones.
Basking sharks are harmless creatures that feed on plankton and are known to spend significant time near the water’s surface. The Marine Animal Response Society (MARS) confirmed that the shark appeared healthy and was swimming freely without any obstructions. Officials monitored the shark’s movements on Friday night, but noted that it was no longer seen near the harbor by Saturday.
