OTTAWA — The FBI has announced a US$1 million reward for information leading to the arrest of Satinderjeet Singh, also known as Goldy Brar, who was charged in July for the 2023 assassination of Sikh activist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Surrey, B.C. The announcement was made during a joint press conference with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), where officials confirmed that Brar has also been added to the FBI’s list of 10 Most Wanted Fugitives.
Authorities suspect that Brar, considered armed and dangerous, may be hiding in the Los Angeles area, California, or parts of Canada. The reward follows “Operation Hard Ball,” a joint law enforcement crackdown targeting North American organized crime networks linked to India. The development comes as Canada and India work to recalibrate their diplomatic and trade relations ahead of planned bilateral engagements.
