LONDON: An Indian restaurant in Ilford, London, was deliberately set on fire, seriously injuring five people. The incident took place at the Indian Aroma restaurant. The Metropolitan Police have arrested two individuals in connection with the attack, a 15-year-old and a 54-year-old.
The arrests were made after reviewing CCTV footage that showed two people entering the restaurant, pouring a liquid on the floor, and then igniting it. The suspects are currently being questioned by police.
Before the fire brigade arrived, nine people managed to escape the restaurant. The ground floor of the establishment was completely destroyed in the fire. The fire department successfully rescued five people who were trapped inside. Police are still searching for two more individuals who fled the scene before officers arrived. The Metropolitan Police have requested that anyone with additional information come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
