OTTAWA: Air Canada flight attendants, represented by the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), have ended their strike after reaching a tentative agreement with the airline.
“The strike is over. We have a tentative agreement. We need to cooperate fully to resume operations,” the union said in a statement.
The union had previously stated that talks with Air Canada had commenced on Monday evening, but no further details of the agreement have been released.
Prior to the deal, Air Canada had urged flight attendants to return to work before talks could proceed, but the union had insisted that the strike would not end until an agreement was reached.
