TORONTO: Thunderstorms and gusty winds are expected to hit Toronto on Tuesday, but the dense smoke that previously shrouded much of southern Ontario in a haze has temporarily cleared, according to CP24 meteorologist Bill Coulter.
A low-pressure system moving into the Great Lakes region will drive the unsettled weather, bringing showers, storms, and strong winds throughout the day. Environment Canada forecasts a daytime high of 27°C on Tuesday, though high humidity will make it feel closer to 35°C.
Conditions are expected to clear by Tuesday night, leading to cooler temperatures on Wednesday with highs struggling to reach the low 20s. However, seasonable warmth is set to return toward the end of the workweek under sunny skies, with high temperatures reaching 26°C on Thursday and 28°C on Friday.
The upcoming weekend is projected to bring warm but slightly unsettled conditions, featuring a mix of sun and cloud with a high of 27°C on Saturday and a similar temperature with a chance of rain on Sunday. Forecasters noted they will continue to monitor prevailing wind directions and active forest fires in northern Ontario for any future air quality impacts on the local area.
