New Brunswick PNP Draw: 379 Candidates Invited in First Round of 2026

FREDERICTON — The Government of New Brunswick conducted its first Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws of 2026 between January 13 and 15, issuing a total of 379 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to prospective immigrants. The selection targeted candidates across three primary immigration streams: the NB Skilled Worker Stream, the NB Strategic Initiative Stream, and the NB Express Entry Stream. All invitations were issued to candidates whose Expressions of Interest (EOI) were submitted by the cut-off time of 11:59 p.m. AST on January 12, 2026.

The NB Skilled Worker Stream accounted for the largest portion of the draw, with 244 invitations issued. This stream is specifically designed for skilled foreign nationals who are currently working in New Brunswick or have received a valid, full-time job offer from a local employer. It includes pathways for those with existing New Brunswick work experience as well as international graduates from the province’s post-secondary institutions. By prioritizing these individuals, the province aims to address immediate labor shortages across all occupational sectors.

In a significant move for the province’s linguistic goals, the NB Strategic Initiative Stream issued 115 invitations. This pathway focuses on French-speaking (Francophone) candidates who possess the skills and education to contribute to New Brunswick’s economy and have a genuine intention to reside in the province. Additionally, the NB Express Entry Stream invited 20 candidates who are currently employed in New Brunswick. These draws reflect the province’s ongoing strategy to attract and retain talent that aligns with its unique demographic and economic needs for the coming year.
