Winnipeg Lifts Residential Parking Ban Following Snow Clearing Operations

WINNIPEG – The City of Winnipeg has officially lifted the residential parking ban that was implemented to facilitate major snow clearing efforts across the city. The ban, which went into effect on Sunday morning following significant snowfall, was deactivated on Wednesday night after crews completed work on residential streets.

With the residential restrictions now over, city officials are urging residents to check their streets. If a residential road has been missed or was not properly cleared, citizens are encouraged to contact the city’s 311 service line to report the location.

While residential parking has returned to normal, the city reminded motorists that the Annual Winter Route Parking Ban remains in full effect. This seasonal restriction prohibits parking on designated “Winter Routes” every day between 2:00 AM and 7:00 AM. Vehicles parked on these routes during these hours risk being ticketed and towed to ensure that emergency vehicles and transit can navigate the city safely.

Residents are advised to look for “Winter Route” signs or use the city’s online address lookup tool to confirm the status of their specific street.
