Trump gives Hamas Sunday deadline to accept Gaza peace plan

WASHINGTON, D.C.: Former U.S. President Donald Trump has delivered a strong warning and an ultimatum to Hamas, demanding the group reach a peace agreement with Israel by 6:00 PM Sunday, American time.

In a declaration posted on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump warned that if the deadline is missed, Hamas will face an “attack never before seen.” The former President also stated that Hamas members are currently encircled by military forces.

The ultimatum is tied to a 20-point proposal put forth by Trump, which aims to end the ongoing Israel-Hamas war and establish a temporary governing authority in the region.

Key Conditions of the Proposal

The proposed deal outlines several core conditions:

  • Gaza Residents: The proposal specifically does not mandate that Palestinians leave the Gaza Strip.
  • Hostage Release: If Hamas agrees to the deal, all remaining hostages must be released within 72 hours.
  • Israeli Withdrawal: Upon the implementation of the terms, the Israeli army must begin a phased withdrawal from Gaza.

President Trump’s forceful intervention comes amid heightened regional tensions, seeking to impose a rapid resolution to the conflict under threat of devastating military action.
