Toronto: Environment Canada has issued a forecast indicating that residents of Southern Ontario can expect some slight relief from the recent heat. Temperatures are expected to drop tonight, though hot and humid conditions may continue through Wednesday in the Greater Toronto, Hamilton, and Eastern Ontario areas.
Today’s daytime high in Toronto could reach 33°C, but with the humidex, it will feel closer to 41°C. The overnight low is forecast to be 22°C. There is also a chance of rain and thunderstorms this afternoon and evening.
On Wednesday, the daytime high is expected to be around 30°C, feeling like 37°C with humidity. Relief will come in the evening, as the overnight temperature is predicted to fall to a more comfortable 18°C.
Authorities have advised the public to drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration and to be aware of the symptoms of heatstroke. Residents are also encouraged to use air conditioning and stay indoors to stay cool.
