OTTAWA – Ottawa residents now have two new ways to escape the freezing winter temperatures as Porter Airlines officially launches non-stop services from the nation’s capital to Miami and Phoenix. These new routes offer a convenient sun-soaked getaway for travelers looking to trade the snow for warmer climates. The Ottawa-to-Miami service took flight on January 24, 2026, while the inaugural flight to Phoenix is scheduled to depart on February 7, 2026.
Both the Miami and Phoenix routes will operate three times weekly, providing a consistent schedule for seasonal travelers and snowbirds. The addition of Miami strengthens Porter’s presence in Florida, joining an existing list of popular destinations that includes Orlando, Tampa, Fort Myers, and Fort Lauderdale. Meanwhile, the Phoenix route marks a significant milestone as it provides the only non-stop connection between Ottawa and Arizona.
These flights are operated using Porter’s modern Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, which features a signature two-by-two seating arrangement, ensuring no passenger is stuck in a middle seat. Travelers can also enjoy complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi and premium snacks during their flight. Beyond direct travel, these new routes serve as major hubs for Porter’s partner, American Airlines, opening up dozens of connecting destinations across the Western United States and Latin America.
