PM Modi announces Australia-Canada-India technology and innovation partnership

JOHANNESBURG: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the formation of a new alliance at the G20 Summit: the Australia-Canada-India Technology and Innovation (ACITI) cooperative group. The announcement followed discussions between the three leaders on the sidelines of the summit, coming amidst improving relations between India and Canada.

Modi stated that the alliance “will support cooperation in new technologies, diversification of supply chains, energy, and the promotion of AI use among democratic nations across three continents.”

The Prime Minister also called for G20 nations to unite against drug trafficking networks. He emphasized the link between drug networks and terrorism, suggesting that the G20 must form a collective mechanism to dismantle them. Additionally, Modi proposed the establishment of a joint system to tackle natural disasters during his address at the summit.
