KITCHENER: Construction is underway for a new industrial park in Waterloo North, set to bring a surge of new jobs and businesses to the area. The official groundbreaking ceremony for the joint project, located at 325 Northfield Drive East, took place on Wednesday. The industrial park is being developed at an estimated cost of $50 million.
The project is a collaboration between Waterloo-based Perimeter Development Group Inc. and Guelph-based Skyline Group of Companies.
The complex will feature two buildings spanning 240,000 square feet. Designed to be Net-Zero Ready, the construction aims to be suitable for small and medium-sized industrial enterprises. Businesses are expected to be able to move into the new buildings by the end of 2026.
Mayor Dorothy McCabe commented that the new industrial centre will support Waterloo’s ongoing growth and significantly help in the creation of more job opportunities within the city.
