OTTAWA – Great news for Ontario residents! The increased Ontario Trillium Benefit (OTB) will be distributed starting August 8. The Ontario Trillium Benefit is a tax-free monthly payment that combines three different provincial credits: the Ontario Sales Tax Credit (OSTC), the Ontario Energy and Property Tax Credit (OEPTC), and the Northern Ontario Energy Credit (NOEC), aimed at alleviating the burden of sales tax, energy costs, and property taxes.
Students, seniors, and temporary residents are among those eligible to receive the Ontario Trillium Benefit. Depending on income, family size, and location, eligible families can receive more than $2,100 annually. In addition to August 8, the Ontario Trillium Benefit payment schedule includes September 10, October 10, November 10, December 10, January 9, 2026, February 10, 2026, March 10, 2026, April 10, 2026, May 8, 2026, and June 10, 2026.
