MLA Elenore Sturko kicked out of B.C. Conservative caucus

VANCOUVER – Reports indicate that Elenore Sturko, the MLA for Surrey-Cloverdale, has been expelled from the Conservative Party of BC caucus. The expulsion reportedly follows allegations that Sturko was working against British Columbia Conservative leader John Rustad, who was facing a leadership review.

Reports suggest that even after the results of the leadership review were announced, Sturko continued her efforts to garner support for a campaign to remove Rustad from his leadership position.

Sturko previously ran in a 2022 by-election representing the BC Liberals (now BC United) before defecting to the BC Conservatives ahead of the 2024 provincial election. She subsequently won her current seat under the Conservative banner. Sturko has also served as the BC Conservative critic for public safety and as solicitor general.
