Megan Oldham Secures Bronze in Freeski Slopestyle; Canada’s Second Medal at Milan 2026

MILANO CORTINA – Canada celebrated its second podium finish of the 2026 Winter Olympics on Monday as Megan Oldham captured the bronze medal in the women’s freeski slopestyle final. This follows speed skater Valérie Maltais’ bronze-winning performance on Saturday, marking a strong start for the Canadian contingent in Italy.

The 24-year-old from Parry Sound, Ontario, delivered a clutch performance in her third and final run at the Livigno Snow Park. After a fall in her second attempt, Oldham bounced back to score 76.46 points, narrowly edging out Great Britain’s Kirsty Muir, who finished fourth with 76.05 points. The competition was fierce at the top, with Switzerland’s defending champion Mathilde Gremaud taking the gold (86.96) and China’s Eileen Gu claiming the silver (86.58).

Oldham’s journey to the podium was a test of nerves. She held the third spot after her first run but faced a setback when she crashed on her second. However, she regained her composure for the final run, executing technical rail sections and high-flying jumps to secure her first-ever Olympic medal. This victory adds to her decorated career, which includes multiple X Games gold medals and a history-making triple cork.
