Manitoba Plane Crash: Two Dead, Including Malayalee Pilot

WINNIPEG: Two pilots have died after a mid-air collision involving small planes near Steinbach, Manitoba. One of the deceased has been identified as Sreehari Sukesh (23), a Malayalee pilot originally from Kochi, Kerala. Authorities stated that Sreehari had only completed a few months of his flight training. He had arrived in Canada in 2023 to pursue a flight training course.

The tragic accident occurred on Tuesday morning around 8:30 AM in the Rural Municipality of Hanover, Manitoba. The collision involved two single-engine aircraft. The RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) confirmed that both pilots died at the scene. There were no passengers on either plane at the time of the incident.

A joint search operation by the RCMP, Fire Services, and Emergency Medical Services led to the recovery of aircraft debris from the crash site. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
