Ottawa : The Liberal Party, led by Prime Minister Mark Carney, has taken a lead over Pierre Poilievre’s Conservatives in recent polls as the April 28 federal election approaches. An Abacus Data survey conducted from March 20-25 shows more Canadians now believe the Liberals will win, marking the first time in years they’ve overtaken the Conservatives in voter confidence.
However, the race remains close, with a Leger poll indicating the two parties are neck-and-neck. Carney’s focus on economic promises, including a $2 billion pledge to the auto sector amid U.S. tariff threats, appears to be resonating, though economic issues like cost of living and housing remain top concerns for voters.
