NEW DELHI: India has intensified its protest against the new tariff policy of the Trump administration. National media reports indicate that India has temporarily suspended its plans to purchase weapons and aircraft from the United States. This comes after Trump imposed additional tariffs on Indian products following India’s recent purchase of crude oil from Russia.
Official sources have stated that Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, who had planned to visit Washington in a few weeks to discuss these issues, has canceled his trip. Officials have clarified that further discussions on purchasing American products will take place, and the agreements may proceed once there is clarity on the bilateral relations.
