NEW DELHI: India has expressed deep concern over the military strikes launched by U.S. and Israeli forces against Iran and the subsequent retaliatory actions by Tehran. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has urged all involved nations to exercise maximum restraint and prioritize the safety of civilians. The situation in West Asia took a critical turn after Iran began targeting U.S. bases in the Gulf region in response to the joint U.S.-Israeli offensive.
In an official statement, the MEA highlighted that India is closely monitoring the rapid developments in Iran and the wider Gulf area. “We urge all parties to exercise restraint, avoid further escalation, and prioritize the protection of citizens,” the Ministry stated. India further emphasized that conflicts should be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy, stressing the importance of respecting the sovereignty of all nations.
The Ministry also confirmed that authorities are in constant touch with Indian nationals residing in the affected regions. While no evacuation has been ordered yet, citizens have been advised to remain vigilant and strictly follow local security guidelines and advisories.
