TORONTO—A Winter Travel Advisory has been issued for Toronto due to heavy snowfall, which began on Tuesday morning. The weather agency is warning residents about the potential for reduced visibility and dangerous driving conditions throughout the day.
The advisory specifically targets areas east of Highway 400, including the Toronto and Durham regions, where heavy snow is expected to create hazardous travel.
The federal agency advises drivers to significantly reduce speed and pay close attention to the taillights of vehicles ahead if visibility drops while driving.
Looking ahead, Environment Canada predicts a potential storm and rain starting Wednesday morning, with temperatures in Toronto expected to climb to around 7 degrees Celsius.
