Florida reports 21 cases of E.coli infections linked to raw milk

Florida: The Florida Department of Health has reported 21 cases of E. coli infection in the state, linked to the consumption of raw milk. Among those affected are six children under the age of 10. The infections have been associated with raw milk consumed from a farm in Northeast/Central Florida. Seven of the infected individuals have been hospitalized. The health department stated that poor hygiene at this farm is a primary reason for the increasing number of cases.

Federal health officials in the United States have warned against consuming raw milk due to the ongoing avian flu outbreak. E. coli is a type of bacteria commonly found in the intestines. However, certain types of E. coli infection can cause severe symptoms such as diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and dehydration.
