OTTAWA: Health Canada has issued an urgent recall for approximately 20,000 power banks due to a significant risk of overheating and fire. The recall specifically affects the LOGiiX Piston Power 5000 Mag models. According to the federal agency, these devices can become excessively hot during charging, posing a potential fire hazard to users and their property.
The recall includes model numbers LGX-13302, LGX-13303, LGX-13304, LGX-13839, and LGX-13840. As of February 9, 2026, the company has received four reports of incidents in Canada, though fortunately, no injuries have been documented so far. These products were widely distributed across Canada between January 2022 and July 2025.
