Coke Canada Bottling Unveils Massive $75 Million Tech-Forward Warehouse in Calgary

CALGARY – In a significant boost to the local economy, Coke Canada Bottling has officially opened a state-of-the-art, high-density warehouse in northeast Calgary. Representing a $75 million investment, this facility stands as one of the company’s largest capital commitments in Western Canada. The 60,000-square-foot expansion, located at the company’s existing manufacturing and distribution site on 23 Street N.E., is designed to centralize operations and serve as a primary hub for Coca-Cola products across the region.

The “crown jewel” of the new facility is the company’s first-ever Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS). This cutting-edge technology allows for higher density storage—housing up to 19,000 pallets—while significantly increasing the speed and efficiency of the distribution process. By bringing storage in-house, the company expects to reduce its reliance on third-party warehouses, which is projected to cut carbon emissions by roughly 200 tonnes annually through streamlined local transportation.

Beyond technological advancements, the investment is a major win for the Calgary workforce. Coke Canada Bottling, which has operated in Canada for over a century, currently employs over 400 people in the city. Company officials highlighted that while automation is a key feature, the expansion will create new local job opportunities and strengthen the city’s position as a critical logistics corridor. This move ensures that the “Red Fleet” can meet the growing demand for beverages in Alberta and throughout Western Canada more effectively than ever before.
