Canada’s new fall forecast says there will be an ‘abrupt transition’ to early winter weather

OTTAWA – The Weather Network’s seasonal forecast predicts that a dramatic start to Canada’s fall season will lead to mild temperatures by the middle of the season. According to senior meteorologist Doug Gillham, record-breaking heat in British Columbia and colder temperatures in central and eastern Canada have already caused temperature variations this month.

The mid-season is expected to be warmer than usual. The Weather Network also predicts slightly wetter-than-normal weather in some areas, particularly Northern Canada, the B.C. coast, and from Northeastern Ontario to Central Quebec and Labrador.
