OTTAWA – After two years of labor disputes and strike threats, Canada Post has announced it is fully prepared to handle the global delivery of greeting cards and gifts this Christmas season. The postal service confirmed that strike actions have been suspended following a preliminary agreement with the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW).
To ensure that parcels and letters arrive before Christmas Day, Canada Post has released a schedule of key mailing deadlines and holiday service hours.
Important Mailing Deadlines
Customers are encouraged to send their items by the following dates to guarantee arrival by December 25:

Holiday Closures and Service Alerts
Canada Post offices will be closed, and there will be no mail collection or delivery on the following statutory holidays:
- December 25 (Christmas Day)
- December 26 (Boxing Day)
- January 1 (New Year’s Day)
