KITCHENER—The City of Guelph is preparing to immediately discontinue its Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) program, with authorities confirming that all 12 speed cameras are slated for removal ahead of the weekend.
City officials stated that the decision to halt the program is directly linked to ‘Bill 56,’ an act advanced by the Ford government. All 12 speed cameras, currently installed across city streets and designated school zones, will begin to be removed starting November 14.
Despite the removal of the enforcement tools, the city emphasized that drivers are still obligated to adhere strictly to posted speed limits.
Furthermore, the city clarified that the processing and collection of fines for any violations recorded before the November 14 removal date will continue.
