CALGARY: A small wildfire discovered near Moose Meadows in Banff National Park has been brought under control, according to a report from Parks Canada. The fire is not expected to spread beyond its current size of two hectares, a statement from Banff National Park on social media confirmed. This means the towns of Banff and Lake Louise are not in any danger.
However, Parks Canada has warned that smoke from the wildfire may be visible on the Trans-Canada and 1A highways over the next few days. The fire was discovered on Saturday evening, and the cause is not yet clear.
