Anmol Bishnoi Files Petition Citing Death Threat from Pakistan Underworld Figure; Seeks Special Security

NEW DELHI: Anmol Bishnoi has filed a petition in court claiming to have received a death threat from Shehzad Bhatti, an underworld figure based in Pakistan. Anmol, currently in the custody of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) following his deportation from the United States, filed the petition on November 27th requesting special security.

Anmol Bishnoi is the brother of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. In his petition, Anmol stated: “My family and I are living in fear. Such threats cannot be taken lightly. There have been many incidents where online threats have led to actual attacks.”

The petition specifically requested special security, including a bulletproof jacket and a bulletproof vehicle, during his transit from the NIA headquarters to the court. Anmol also sought special screening procedures in light of the death threat. Meanwhile, NIA Special Judge Prashant Sharma extended Anmol’s custody until December 5th.

Anmol, who is an accused in several criminal cases including that of Baba Siddique, was brought to India on November 19th. He is also an accused in the murder case of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. He is also suspected of being involved in the shooting incident outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s house in Mumbai’s Bandra on April 14th of this year. The NIA had previously announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh for information leading to Anmol’s apprehension.
