Alberta Issues 382 Invitations in Latest Immigration Draws, Targeting Skilled Workers

EDMONTON: Alberta’s immigration programs are making significant waves in 2025, offering new opportunities for skilled workers to gain permanent residency (PR) in Canada. In a series of six draws conducted throughout July, the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) issued invitations to 382 candidates to apply for permanent residency. These draws, part of the AAIP Express Entry Stream and other pathways, were specifically aimed at addressing labor shortages in key sectors such as healthcare, law enforcement, agriculture, and aviation.

Alberta conducted these six draws under the AAIP between July 3 and July 16.

On July 3, the Dedicated Healthcare Pathway Express Entry draw invited 36 applicants with a minimum score of 62. Candidates for this stream required a valid job offer from an employer in the healthcare sector and a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 300.

Following this, on July 4, the Alberta Express Entry Stream – Agricultural draw, targeting candidates with occupations in the agricultural sector, invited 15 applicants with a minimum score of 64.

Subsequently, the Alberta Express Entry Stream – Aviation Category draw on July 8 issued invitations to 20 candidates who had a minimum score of 53. On July 9, the Dedicated Healthcare Pathway Non-Express Entry draw provided provincial nominations to 32 healthcare professionals who were not in the Express Entry pool.

The largest of the six draws, the Alberta Opportunity Stream draw, which targets skilled workers with job offers in the province, took place on July 11. This draw saw 269 candidates receive invitations with a minimum score of 72.

Finally, the Alberta Express Entry Stream – Law Enforcement Pathway issued provincial invitations to fewer than ten applicants who had a minimum score of 49.

These targeted draws underscore Alberta’s proactive approach to addressing its labor market needs by attracting skilled international talent to the province.
