Air quality warnings issued in Alberta, Saskatchewan as smoke blankets area

EDMONTON: Environment Canada has issued an air quality warning for the provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan due to wildfire smoke. The weather agency states that smoke from wildfires in central and northern Alberta is reducing visibility and causing poor air quality. Poor air quality is expected in several cities, including Edmonton, on Monday and Tuesday.

Similar air quality warnings are in effect for several communities in Saskatchewan, including Saskatoon and Buffalo Narrows. Very high-risk conditions are expected in these areas on Monday. Environment Canada has advised people to limit their time outdoors and consider postponing outdoor sports and activities.
