Air Canada further expands its Latin America network this winter

MONTREAL – Air Canada is significantly expanding its flight services to Latin America as part of a strategic move to diversify its global network this winter.

The airline announced it will resume non-stop, twice weekly flights to Lima, Peru, from both Montreal and Toronto this winter. This expansion comes as Canadians shun travel to the U.S. amid President Donald Trump’s imposition of trade tariffs and his talk of Canada becoming the 51st state.

In addition to the revived Lima routes, Air Canada is introducing three new routes to Central America and Mexico including, Montreal-Belize, Toronto-Puerto Escondido, and Vancouver-Tepic, Riviera Nayarit. This aggressive expansion aims to capitalize on the growing demand to vacation destinations in South and Central America and in Mexico’s Oaxaca and Pacific coast areas.

Air Canada plans to offer over 55 daily flights to 52 destinations throughout Latin America and the Caribbean this winter, representing a record number of sun destinations served by the airline. This will result in over 80,000 weekly seats to the region.
