TORONTO- Environment Canada has issued a frost advisory for Toronto, warning that temperatures are expected to drop close to the freezing mark on Monday night. The sharp dip in temperature could pose a risk to frost-sensitive plants, trees, and crops. Although Tuesday morning is expected to be clear, temperatures could plunge to as low as 3°C.
In a warning published on its website, Environment Canada advised residents to take precautionary measures to protect frost-sensitive vegetation and crops, recommending that plants in frost-prone areas be covered. A yellow-level alert is currently in place covering the entire Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and large portions of Southwestern Ontario.
Tuesday will see a daytime high of 16°C. On Wednesday and Thursday, temperatures are expected to rebound to 22°C and 20°C respectively, with a 40% chance of rain.
However, cooler conditions will return by the weekend. Friday brings a continued chance of rain with a daytime high dropping to 18°C. Saturday is expected to be cloudy with a high of 16°C, before temperatures climb back to 21°C on Sunday.
