TORONTO – A fire broke out early Tuesday morning near Rebel, a prominent waterfront nightclub in Toronto. The blaze was first detected around 5:00 AM at Polson Pier, located near the intersection of Cherry and Polson Streets. Toronto Fire Services responded quickly to the scene, utilizing both land-based units and a fire boat to extinguish the flames from the harbor side.
Fortunately, the damage was limited to the exterior of the building. Because the fire did not spread into the interior of the club, major structural losses were avoided. Officials confirmed that there were no injuries reported, noting that a significant tragedy was likely averted because the venue was empty at the time of the incident.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown and remains under investigation by the Toronto Fire Services and local police. While the fire has been brought under control, security personnel and emergency crews remain on-site to monitor the area and ensure the site is fully secured.
